Overview

Are you an established Health Care Assistant looking to expand your knowledge within a clinic and home visit setting? Join our supportive Complex Leg Ulcer service. This part-time role (15 hours) is arranged on Weekdays with clinic duties and community coverage. A car driver is essential for this role due to community work.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Complex Leg Ulcer Service and assist with implementing care for patients attending the Leg Ulcer clinic, under the supervision of the Registered Complex Leg Ulcer Nurse.
  • Assist with setting up and cleaning the clinic room, including equipment before and after each clinic.
  • Support the treatment and management of patients who have complex leg ulcers in clinic and within the wider community.
  • Work in partnership with patients and carers to enable informed choices; maintain infection prevention and control principles in a clinical environment.
  • Maintain a high standard of individualised patient care and report any changes in patient condition or concerns to the Registered Nurse.
  • Adhere to Trust risk management procedures including incident reporting and complaints procedures. Comply with legal requirements (e.g., Data Protection, Caldicott).
  • Ensure that all equipment is maintained and in good order; report damaged or non-functioning equipment to the Registered Nurse and maintain adequate stock levels.
  • Deliver care in line with the Trust’s mission and values and contribute to a supportive, inclusive workplace.
Qualifications and Requirements
  • Proven experience as a Health Care Assistant, with an interest in Complex Leg Ulcer care.
  • Part-time role: 15 hours per week, on Monday and Thursday (08:30–17:00) as outlined; car driver essential for community cover.
  • Must be able to work under supervision of the Registered Complex Leg Ulcer Nurse and within infection control guidelines.
