Overview

Full‑time, permanent Band 6 Midwife role at Frimley Health NHS Foundation Trust. The position involves overseeing a team of Band 6 midwives and maternity support workers, with shift work and on‑call availability.

Responsibilities
  • Lead and manage the midwifery team to deliver safe, high quality care for home and hospital births.
  • Provide clinical support, mentoring and CPD for junior staff.
  • Engage in clinical audit, quality improvement and evidence‑based practice.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams and child protection services.
  • Support continuous professional development and educational training for staff.
Essential Qualifications
  • Registered midwife with a degree or equivalent experience.
  • Experience in community midwifery and promotion of safe home birth.
  • Evidence of ongoing professional study.
  • Excellent interpersonal and clinical skills, electronic health record proficiency.
  • Required to complete a preceptorship and safeguard level 3 training.
Desirable Qualifications
  • Leadership/management training or undertaking a Master’s study.
  • Demonstrated change management, innovation and MDT collaboration skills.
  • Experience of clinical audit, quality issues and research awareness.
  • CPD evidence and mentoring/PSPA/SLIP experience.
  • Teaching and assessment experience for students.
