Are you a compassionate Registered Nurse seeking a new opportunity We have a Community Staff Nurse position available within the teams based at Chard Langport South Petherton Ilminster and Crewkerne Our service covers the urban and rural areas of South Somerset This position includes dayshifts and are usually 8am to 4pm, 9am to 5pm, or 10am to 6pm You will also work twilight shifts 2pm to 10pm and currently one in three weekends which includes additional unsocial hours enhanced payments We offer flexible working solutions where possible to ensure a work life balance and parttime hours will be considered

You'll need to be a car driver with your own vehicle to visit patients in their own homes We offer a generous mileage allowance to cover the use of your car for NHS business which includes both mileage and depreciation

Main duties of the job

As a community RN you'll provide care to patients in their homes managing a range of complex health issues and collaborating with various other disciplinesYou'll develop a broad range of nursing skills including IV medication administration palliative and end-of-life care complex wound management catheter and continence care diabetes management PICC line care medication administration and drain tube managementYou'll need to make autonomous clinical decisions and create holistic care plans with the support of your colleagues and Team Leaders Comprehensive training and guidance will be provided by our two dedicated Clinical Lead nurses

Job responsibilities

Work closely with the Team Leader coordinating the community nursing teams off duties to meet the needs of the community nursing service/workload.

Ensuring all loans of equipment are appropriate and reviewed regularly

Working in partnership with other health care professionals and agencies

Encouraging client independence and empowerment, recognising and respecting their involvement in the planning and delivery of their care

  • Registered General Nurse
  • Level One Registration with appropriate registration with the NMC as per post requirements
  • Full valid Driving Licence
  • Teaching/Assessing Qualification
  • Previous Community Experience
Experience
  • Required to develop the knowledge base in line with the requirements for the post
  • Experience of working in multi-agency services
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional Development and to have undertaken post registration training
