Job description

Overview

We require a Tutor to teach Health and Care courses to adult learners in Kendal and the surrounding area. The role will involve delivering accredited Health and Wellbeing and Care qualifications particularly in areas such as Mental Health Awareness, Resilience and Grit and Adult Social care. The qualification offer includes a range of short qualifications awards at Entry Level, and certificates at Levels 1 and 2. The successful applicant will also deliver non accredited classes to support learners and provide pathways for learners to progress on to studying formal qualifications. Assessor qualifications would be an advantage and a teaching qualification is essential (or a willingness to complete a qualification within 12 months of starting employment).

Responsibilities / Role details

The role will require someone with the ability to adapt quickly and work flexibly to meet local and emerging needs. The candidate will be supported by an Advanced Practitioner and may be required to teach Employability courses too where demand exists.

Who we are looking for

The ideal candidate will have experience of working and teaching in Health and Care and a willingness to work flexibly across different locations to meet growing demand and with varied groups of learners, many of whom have significant challenges in their everyday lives. Teaching hours will also be varied and are dependent on demand, however, it is probable that there will be a need to be available for classes during both day and evening hours.

Our service works with learners of all abilities and with skills levels from absolute beginner to level 2. You will need to demonstrate the ability to teach Health and Care to meet a range of learning styles and support learners with diverse needs.
