We’re now looking for a Community Housing Officer to join our dynamic team. Bring your skills, your ideas, and your drive – and help us shape the future of housing in Devon.

About The Community Housing Officer Role

Helping us deliver cleaner, greener and safer neighbourhoods, you will undertake regular inspections of our estates and actively address any property condition concerns, antisocial behaviour or breaches of tenancy condition. You will carry out two yearly Keeping In Touch Visits with residents in their home. You will be pivotal in working towards keeping the company compliant by helping our repairs company access properties for appointments such as gas safety tests, electrical safety tests and other statutory repairs and works required. You will be providing community charters and events for the residents in your area. You will assist our Lettings Co-ordinator by completing viewings and sign ups for new residents and you will assist the rents team with home visits, plus many more tenancy management tasks.

You should have sound experience of social housing, with a proven ability to build good relationships with diverse customers and a demonstrable flair for meeting stretching targets. This is an extremely varied role where no two days are the same; being able to prioritise and be adaptable are crucial. If you’re familiar with housing legislation, that’s a plus, but diplomacy, determination, a desire to work in a supportive role, and problem-solving talent will make the difference every day.

Hours: Full-time, 37 hours per week.
