A local government authority in the Tees Valley is seeking a skilled communications professional to manage internal and external communication activities. The ideal candidate will have experience in creating communication plans, producing engaging content, and promoting events through various channels. Strong writing skills and the ability to advise senior management are essential. This position offers competitive benefits including generous leave and a pension scheme.
We’re looking to recruit a proactive, enthusiastic and skilled communications professional.
You will work on all matters relating to communication activities including external and internal communications, crisis management and press.
You will have experience of creating and evaluating communication plans and strategies, be skilled in producing exciting and engaging content that can be used across all digital platforms and have strong writing skills.
You will be able to identify and use a range of communication channels for targeted messaging. You will be able to work closely with marketing colleagues to help promote the council's work and reputation.
You will be able to advise senior managers and elected members on communications issues.
You will be a self-motivated, organised and able to work on your own and as part of a team to meet tight deadlines, handling multiple projects simultaneously. You will have experience of promoting and covering events for the press and social media and have experience of working with colleagues and partners at all levels.
