As a Commercial Manager, you will be responsible for managing the commercial aspects of the projects. This may include supporting pre-contract and operations, managing commercial risk and opportunity, ensuring accuracy of forecasts, and adhering to all commercial reporting procedures. You will need to build strong relationships with clients and work within integrated project teams.

You’ll be responsible for:

  • Commercial management of subcontract packages from procurement to final account.
  • Procurement of subcontract packages and materials including collating tender documentation & administering tenders.
  • Accountable for commercial package management and reporting to the commercial lead.
  • Establishing cost control systems including administering client and subcontract changes.
  • Establishing risk and opportunity reporting mechanisms.
  • Mitigating risks and protect package/project margin.
  • Enhancing profit by seeking opportunities through change and cost reduction measures such as value engineering.
  • Operating and collaborating as part of a multi-disciplinary team.
  • Working collaboratively towards the common goal of net zero carbon transition and share responsibility for the proactive identification and management of the associated carbon emissions and reductions during the delivery of work.

You’ll need to have:

  • Proficient in MS office tools.
  • Subcontract profit and loss reporting.
  • Administering monthly commercial calendar.
  • Experience in establishing cost control systems.
  • Leading value engineer and cost exercises.
  • Preparing monthly commercial reports.
  • Developed planning and organisational skills.
  • Ability to communicate, collaborate & network with key stakeholders and senior leaders.
  • Established problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to adapt and respond to change.
  • Leads by example and demonstrates leadership behaviours.
  • Degree in quantity surveying/commercial management (or equivalent). CSCS.

You’ll also have:

  • Contract Management, including knowledge of NEC Suite of contracts.
  • Ability to apply detailed technical expertise managing complex tasks.
  • Ability to build established and effective client relationships.
  • Provides clear direction and creates a culture of high performance.
  • Encourages and empowers others, providing praise & recognition of efforts.
  • Actively supports the wider team to ensure plans are met.
