About the Role

A prestigious opportunity has arisen for an experienced Commercial Manager to join a Tier 1 main contractor on a high-profile £225 million mixed-use project in Cardiff. The development includes the Live Nation-backed 17,000-capacity arena, part of the wider Atlantic Wharf regeneration that will redefine the city’s entertainment and leisure offering.

Role Overview

As Commercial Manager, you’ll lead the commercial function on the project, overseeing a team of QSs and managing the full commercial lifecycle. This role demands a strategic thinker who is commercially astute and has a proven background in delivering large-scale, complex projects.

Responsibilities

  1. Lead the commercial team across all project phases
  2. Manage all financial aspects including reporting, forecasting, and change control
  3. Develop procurement strategies and supply chain relationships
  4. Client liaison and contract administration (primarily NEC)
  5. Provide leadership and support to Senior and Assistant QSs
  6. Ensure delivery meets financial performance targets and KPIs

Requirements

  • Minimum 10 years’ experience with Tier 1/major contractor
  • Previous experience on major build schemes over £100m
  • NEC contract knowledge essential
  • Excellent leadership and communication skills
  • Cardiff or South Wales-based, or willing to travel
