Job summary

A leading job site seeks a Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer to cover Stevenage and surrounding areas. You will conduct maintenance and emergency repairs on heating systems. Essential gas certifications are mandatory, along with relevant mechanical qualifications. A company vehicle and competitive salary are offered, alongside 24 days holiday plus bank holidays.

Qualifications

  • Essential gas certifications required.
  • Experience with commercial and domestic heating systems.
  • Health & safety training is vital.

  • Undertake minor installations and fault-finding.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnose faults and carry out repairs.
  • Respond to emergency gas leaks.

Skills

Essential Gas Certifications: CCN1, CENWAT, COCN1, CODNCO1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, TPCP1a
OFTEC accreditation (OFT10-101, OFT10-105E, OFT10-600a)
City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant Mechanical discipline
Recognized Health & Safety training
Ability to pass DBS/Police background checks

Overview

Mobile Commercial Gas Engineer – covering Stevenage and surrounding areas. Company Vehicle Provided. 24 Days Holiday + Bank Holidays. £50,000 - £55,000 – Negotiable DOE.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct breakdown, service, and maintenance works on a diverse range of commercial and domestic heating and hot water generating systems.
  • Undertake minor installations of HVAC systems, fault-finding, and remedial works.
  • Perform planned preventative maintenance on gas appliances, heating systems, and hot/cold water systems.
  • Diagnose faults in gas boilers, heating systems, hot/cold water systems, and carry out remedial repairs.
  • Respond to emergency gas leaks promptly and implement safety measures as required.
Skills & Experience
  • Essential Gas Certifications: CCN1, CENWAT, COCN1, CODNCO1, ICPN1, CIGA1, CDGA1, CORT1, TPCP1a.
  • OFTEC accreditation (OFT10-101, OFT10-105E, OFT10-600a) would be advantageous, though not essential.
  • City & Guilds or NVQ Level 2/3 in a relevant Mechanical discipline (or equivalent experience).
  • Recognized Health & Safety training.
  • Ability to pass DBS/Police background checks for access to sensitive sites (possibly a future requirement).
