Our client, an international business, currently has an opportunity for a Commercial Director within a fast-growing commercial division. This is a unique opportunity for a senior commercial professional with experience leading high-performing teams.

Role responsibilities
  1. Lead a small but growing team, while remaining hands-on in the day-to-day activities.
  2. Lead commercial negotiations for new business with both new and existing clients.
  3. Act as a trusted advisor to business stakeholders and customers.
  4. Identify risks, liabilities, and commitments in contractual agreements; ensure they are clearly understood and their potential impacts are appreciated.
  5. Review, draft, update, and maintain contract documents.
  6. Monitor and report on performance and compliance against contractual obligations, including commercial performance and financial management.
  7. Monitor customer satisfaction levels.
  8. Coordinate with contract delivery teams to manage change requests and ensure proper implementation in line with contracts.
  9. Report on the progress of change requests and projects.
  10. Review contract performance, assess commercial risks, and implement appropriate risk management steps.
  11. Prevent and resolve contractual disputes.
  12. Ensure adherence to Group Commercial Policy.
  13. Support client engagement teams in all commercial aspects post-contract signature to meet order, profit, and cash targets, and manage client relationships.
  14. Support project delivery teams by providing clear direction and working closely with the client engagement team.
Candidate profile
  • Experience working in a pre-contract signature environment.
  • Experience collaborating with finance, operations, and technical specialists.
  • Sector experience is not essential.
  • Strong understanding of legal and financial aspects.
