Job summary

A leading consultancy firm seeks a Commercial Analyst based in Thurso, Scotland. The role involves executing commercial strategies, supporting procurement activities, and producing high-quality reporting metrics. Qualifications

  • Relevant administration experience.
  • Experience in commercial practices is desirable but not essential.
  • NEC 3/4 contract management experience is desirable.

Role Overview

Role: Commercial Analyst
Sector: Nuclear
Location: Thurso, Scotland (Hybrid - 4-Days On-Site) - MUST be based local
Start Date: October 2025
Duration: Approx. 12-Months
Rates: 18.84 to 29.48 Hourly Rate D.O.E PAYE
Clearance: Background Checks & Right to Work in the UK

Responsibilities
  • Execute the commercial, procurement and supply chain strategies
  • Support the Project teams through the procurement of goods and services for low value/risk requirements
  • Support the Project teams through the sanctioning and validation process
  • Support the preparation of contract strategies
  • Support the delivery of low value/risk contracts in support of project deliverables including variations, complaints,claims and disputes that arise with the supply chain
  • Support the selection and award process of suitably qualified and experienced contractors in line with the EU
  • Procurement Directives, NDA and DSRL procedures
  • Ensure DSRL conducts its commercial activities taking account of NDA policies on supply chain development, socioeconomic impact and collaborative procurement
  • Produce high quality reporting and control metrics for all commercial activities
  • Input procurement information into the appropriate databases
  • Perform the responsibilities of Management Appointments relevant to the post Aptitudes and
Experience
  • HNC in Science/Engineering/Business or equivalent qualification plus experience
  • Relevant administration experience
  • Commercial experience is desirable but not essential
  • NEC 3/4 contract management experience desirable
  • Public sector procurement experience desirable
  • Ability to deliver to deadlines whilst maintaining quality of output
  • Good organisational and planning skills
  • Good communication and interpersonal skills
