Overview

GMMH Health and Wigan CAMHS are looking to recruit a Cognitive Behavioural Therapist to work within the multi-disciplinary mental health team, which implements a stepped-care model of care to children and Young people across the Wigan footprint. We are seeking an accredited CBT therapist to work within the wider mental health team alongside other psychological professionals.

Responsibilities
  • Provide Cognitive Behavioural Therapy to those presenting with common mental health difficulties of varying complexity, for which CBT has been demonstrated to be clinically effective.
  • Work closely with other professionals and contribute to the wider formulation and understanding of presenting distress, including attending multi-professional meetings to share formulations, intervention plans and progress.
  • The post holder will primarily provide Cognitive Behavioural assessment, formulation and therapy to service users with complex mental health needs and to provide services that meet the agreed service priorities consonant with practitioner experience and expertise.
  • In conjunction with other psychological therapists working within the service, contribute as appropriate to the provision of individual and group CBT-based interventions.
  • This job description recognises the need to ensure appropriate supervision and professional development as a core theme.

Employment and Conditions

All positions within the Trust are subject to satisfactory pre-employment checks. The Trust mandates enrollment in the DBS Update Service for roles requiring a DBS; enrolment is for a fee of £16 per year.
