Job summary

A precision engineering firm based near Yeadon, Leeds, is seeking an experienced CNC Turner/Programmer. This permanent role offers £16 to £17 per hour, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, and 25 days holiday. Key responsibilities include programming, setting, and operating CNC machines, along with effective use of materials. Ideal candidates will have experience with Siemens controls and knowledge of machining various materials.

Overview

CNC Turner / Programmer – Permanent Role, £16p/hr to £17p/hr DOE, 40hrs per week, Mon-Fri, 25 days holiday. Location: YEADON, Leeds.

Are you an experienced CNC Turner/Programmer looking for a new role? A busy and growing Precision Engineering firm based near Yeadon, Leeds, is seeking a skilled candidate. Ideally you will be Apprentice Trained; however, experienced, time-served CNC Turners will be considered.

Responsibilities
  • Programming, setting and operating CNC machines to produce accurate, quality components on time
  • Effective and efficient use of materials and tooling
  • Managing your work schedule
  • Self-inspecting all manufactured components
  • Adhering to all Quality and Health & Safety Standards
Qualifications
  • Must be able to Program, Set, Edit and Operate
  • Experience with Siemens controls is ideal; experience with Fanuc, Mazatrol or Mazak controls welcome, with willingness to be trained on Siemens
  • Knowledge of Siemens ShopTurn advantageous
  • Good experience of Sub-Contract work
  • Knowledge of machining Stainless and Mild Steel, Aluminium, Brass, Copper, Bronze & Plastic
  • Machining bespoke small to medium batch size components (5's to 200's)
  • CNC Milling experience would be beneficial
  • Ability to use measuring equipment such as Verniers and Micrometres
Role Details
  • You will be contracted to 40hrs per week, working Monday to Thursday from 7am to 4.30pm with an 11am finish on Fridays
  • Salary: £16p/hr to £17p/hr DOE
  • Overtime available during busy periods
  • 25 days holiday
