Job summary

A precision engineering company in Long Eaton seeks an experienced CNC Programmer/Setter. The role involves setting and programming CNC machines for batch work, maintaining a safe work area, and ensuring accuracy through inspections. Ideal candidates will have strong skills in CNC programming and an understanding of various control systems. Full-time permanent employment with competitive hourly rates up to £18.00 depending on experience.

Qualifications

  • Experience in CNC programming and setting for milling and turning machines.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Familiarity with measuring tools such as micrometers and verniers.

Responsibilities

  • Set and program CNC milling and turning machines for batch work.
  • Load tooling, set offsets, and prove out new jobs.
  • Create and adjust programs for efficiency and accuracy.
  • Conduct first-off and in-process inspections.
  • Maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Pay :

  • Up to £18.00 per hour experienced Programmer / Setter
  • Around £16.50 per hour experienced Setter (depending on skills and capability)

Hours : Monday to Thursday 06 : 30 16 : 00, Friday 06 : 30 12 : 30

Employment : Permanent, full-time

Due to continued growth, they are looking for an experienced CNC Programmer / Setter to join their skilled and friendly team.

The Role
  • Setting and programming CNC milling and turning machines for small to medium batch work.
  • Loading tooling, setting offsets, and proving out new jobs from engineering drawings.
  • Creating and adjusting programs at the machine to optimise efficiency and accuracy.
  • Carrying out first-off and in-process inspections using micrometers, verniers, and gauges.
  • Maintaining a clean, safe, and organised work area.
