CNC programmer — Location Birmingham — Salary - £14.50 - £16.50 per hour — Full time Hours: 37 hours per week - Monday to Thursday, Friday, though some flexibility is to be expected.

Job Description

The company is a well-established and expanding manufacturing company based in Birmingham and due to our current growth, we are now looking to recruit for the position of a CNC Programmer.

The Role

As part of a larger strategy to increase our productivity across the business, we are looking to add a skilled and flexible machinist to our team, who's roll will be to support the incumbent CNC team with all aspects of their daily tasks as required, while also supporting our Manufacturing Engineers with lean and 5s projects.

  • Working as a hands-on machinist on either Fanuc or Mazak VMCs
  • Providing absence cover where required.
  • Carrying out TPM /PPM activities
  • Programming online at the control
  • Proving Out.
  • Working on lean or 5S projects.
  • This role would suit somebody with several years' experience of programming Fanuc VMC's, in a wide range of materials, any turning or Mazatrol knowledge will be a bonus.
Key skills (non-negotiable)
  • To apply for this roll, you must be a UK national.
  • Completed apprenticeship to Minimum Level 3.
  • Extensive experiencing in setting and running CNC machines.
  • Ability to read drawings including GD&T symbols.
  • A flexible and 'can do' attitude.
Desired skills
  • Mazatrol Experience.
  • Turning knowledge.
  • Exposure to CAD/CAM
  • Competency with MS Excel, Word.
  • CMM operating.
