Job summary

A local manufacturing firm in Shrewsbury is seeking an experienced CNC Operator to operate and set CNC machinery for high-quality precision components. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of machining processes and experience with Alphacam and BobCAD. CNC Operator

Location: Halesfield, Telford Salary: £13.50 per hour Hours: Mon-Thu 08:00-16:30, Friday 08:00-15:30

We'relooking for an experienced CNC Operator, ideallysomeone who'sworked on lathes or milling machinesto join our client's manufacturing team. The ideal candidate will have experience operating CNC machinery andhave some experience using Alphacam or BobCAD to input, adjust, or modify existing CNC programmes as required

Key Responsibilities of a CNC Operator:

• Operate and set CNC machinery to produce high-quality precision components
• Load, adjust, and modify existing CNC programmes using Alphacam and/or BobCAD
• Interpret technical drawings and CAD models to ensure accurate production
• Carry out routine machine checks and maintain a safe working environment
• Work closely with production staff to improve workflow and minimise downtime
• Maintain accurate documentation relating to tooling, programmes, and set-up processes

Requirements of a CNC Operator:

• Proven experience as a CNC Operator
• Strong understanding of machining processes and tooling
• Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings
• Excellent attention to detail and a proactive approach to problem-solving
