CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator

The Role

Currently seeking a skilled CNC Miller Programmer Setter Operator to join our growing precision engineering team. The ideal candidate will be confident programming both at the machine (using the controller) and offline using CAD/CAM software.

You will primarily be working on 3- and 4-axis milling machines. The machines run on various controls, but if you\'re proficient with other control systems, support and training will be provided to help you adapt quickly.

Key Responsibilities
  • Programming, setting, and operating CNC milling machines (3 & 4 axis)
  • Creating and editing programs directly at the machine or offline using CADCAM
  • Reading and interpreting technical engineering drawings
  • Producing high-precision components, primarily one-offs and small batch work
  • Identifying opportunities to improve machining processes, cycle times, and program efficiency
  • Ensuring quality and accuracy of all finished parts
  • Working closely with the engineering team to troubleshoot and resolve any machining issues
  • Maintaining a clean and safe working environment
What We\'re Looking For
  • Strong background in machining and milling within a precision engineering environment
  • Proven CNC programming experience
  • Competence using CAD/CAM software
  • Able to work independently and use initiative
  • Excellent understanding of engineering drawings and geometric tolerances
  • Experience working on one-off and small batch jobs
