CNC Machinist | Bordon | On-site | Permanent | Competitive salary & package

Are you a skilled CNC Machinist with a passion for precision and innovation? Join a cutting‑edge team manufacturing components for next‑generation spacecraft systems!

We're seeking a talented individual to Program, Set, and Operate 3 & 5 Axis CNC and manual machines, playing a vital role in the production of high‑precision composite and metallic components for mission‑critical space applications.

As part of the Composites Manufacturing team and reporting to the Manufacturing Team Leader, you'll work closely with the Design Office and Engineering teams to deliver world‑class components under tight deadlines for flight assembly and integration.

What you'll be doing:
  • Programming, setting, and operating 3 & 5‑axis CNC milling machines (composite and metallic parts).
  • Offline CNC programming using Autodesk PowerMill and FeatureCAM (training provided if needed).
  • Collaborating with Project Engineers to meet stringent aerospace specifications.
  • Participating in peer reviews to ensure "design for manufacture" principles are applied.
  • Attending team meetings and contributing to the continuous improvement of our manufacturing processes.
  • Occasionally performing manual machining operations as required.
Qualifications, Skills & Experience:
  • City & Guilds in Mechanical Engineering or a recognised Apprenticeship with relevant certifications.
  • Strong academic background in engineering disciplines.
  • Background in high‑precision, high‑value, low‑volume machining — ideally in Aerospace or similar fields.
  • CNC off‑line programming experience preferred (SolidWorks, PowerMill, FeatureCAM), though training is available.
  • A meticulous eye for detail and commitment to delivering work to tight tolerances.
  • Able to interpret engineering drawings and SolidWorks models.
  • A proactive problem‑solver with a flexible, can‑do attitude.
  • Strong communicator and dependable team player.
