An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and compassionate Clinical Research Nurse to join our Renal research team at St George’s Hospital. You will support the delivery of high-quality research studies working closely with clinical teams, patients, and families.
This newly established research role is part of a service dedicated to delivering high-quality research not only in the hospital environment but also within the community by increasing public access to a broader range of clinically significant studies locally. As part of the role, the post holder will also be required to conduct occasional home visits to trial participants.
The post holder will be working collaboratively with research teams, wards and the wider multidisciplinary team, they will manage their own caseload of clinical trial participants and ensure the achievement of both local and national service targets. Key responsibilities include facilitating study setup, identifying eligible patients through MDT meetings and clinical note screening, conducting interviews, collecting and entering data, venepuncture, laboratory support for blood processing and supporting participants informed consent on the studies. The post holder will be expected to possess the necessary skills to enable patients to make informed decisions regarding trial participation, acting as a knowledgeable advisor and patient advocate.
