Job description
Overview

Applications are invited for a Clinical Research Fellow in Paediatric Infectious Diseases/Immunology and Paediatric Intensive Care to commence in February 2025. The post is based at the Evelina London Children's Hospital, at Guys & St Thomas NHS Foundation Trust.

Responsibilities
  • Recruit and support paediatric patients into clinical trials and research studies, including Paediatric Infection and Immunology studies.
  • Contribute to national and international research in Paediatric Infectious Diseases and Paediatric Intensive Care.
  • Assist with PIMS‑TS patient management and participate in outpatient and inpatient PIID clinical services.
  • Collaborate with Clinical researchers at GSTT NIHR Biomedical Central and King's College London.
  • Engage with the daily clinical work of the PIID inpatient consults, paediatric OPAT, infection control, antimicrobial stewardship, acute/complex infection, HIV, TB, congenital infection and primary/secondary immunodeficiency clinics.
Qualifications
  • Fully registered with the GMC and hold a Licence to Practice (or be eligible for registration).
  • Previous paediatric experience essential; previous research experience not essential but desirable.
  • Good Clinical Practice training essential.
  • Eligibility to meet UK immigration rules for skilled worker visa.
Legal and Safeguarding

The post holder will have regular contact with vulnerable adults and/or children (0‑18 years) and must comply with the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975. A Disclosure to the Criminal Records Bureau is required.
