Job Overview

As a Clinical Receptionist you will work as part of a team under the supervision of qualified nurses and doctors, and experienced Clinical Receptionists, to provide a high standard and quality of health care to patients in accordance with Badger standards and clinical procedures.

Key Responsibilities and Accountabilities
  • Work effectively as part of the Badger team to support high quality, safe and timely care for patients under the instruction/guidance of Badger clinicians.
  • Work in accordance with Badger's policies and procedures.
  • Book patients in using the Adastra computer database and liaise with clinicians to support triage of walk‑in patients when required and within the required timeframes.
  • Undertake initial patient assessments to support the registered healthcare professionals' clinical assessment and management, in line with Badger's policies and procedures. Examples include Blood pressure, heart rate, temperature, respiratory rate, oxygen saturation readings and recordings; blood glucose testing; urinalysis.
  • Ensure accurate, timely and effective two‑way communication and action when receiving information, advice or guidance from Badger clinicians.
  • Ensure effective communication of concerns about possible serious illness or deterioration to secure timely clinician review of the patient.
  • Produce accurate, timely and legible records on the Electronic Patient Record system.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Maintain up‑to‑date statutory, mandatory training and role‑based training requirements.
  • Participate in and support audits as appropriate.
