Qualifications

  • Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology are encouraged.

We are seeking an enthusiastic and skilled Clinical Psychologist (Band 7 equivalent) to join our innovative multidisciplinary team (MDT) on a part-time basis (3 days per week). This is a unique opportunity to play a pivotal role in neurorehabilitation delivering psychological input that truly transforms lives.

Main duties of the job

At Active Neuro, we provide high-quality, evidence-based neurorehabilitation tailored to the individual needs of our clients. Our service supports people with a wide range of challenges, including cognitive, emotional, behavioural, physical, and social difficulties following brain injury or neurological illness.

You will work alongside a well-established MDT, including Speech and Language Therapy, Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy, Music therapy, Dietetics, Nursing and Rehabilitation Support Staff, and Medical colleagues. Together, the team takes a holistic, person-centred approach, delivering collaborative, goal-oriented rehabilitation plans designed to enhance functional recovery, independence, and quality of life.

The role:

In this varied and rewarding role, you will:

Conduct comprehensive neuropsychological assessments to inform rehabilitation planning.

Deliver evidence-based psychological interventions, including cognitive and mood therapies.

Design and implement behaviour modification programmes using a Positive Behaviour Support (PBS) approach.

Support patients, families, and carers in understanding the impact of brain injury and promoting recovery.

Contribute to multidisciplinary team (MDT) assessments, formulations, and service development.

Maintain accurate and timely clinical records and reports in line with BPS, HCPC, and company standards.

Assist with the training and development of MDT colleagues and supporting wider service initiatives.

Ensure all practice safeguards patient wellbeing and upholds human rights.

Person Specification
Qualifications
  • HCPC registration
  • Postgraduate qualifications in Clinical Psychology or Clinical Neuropsychology are encouraged
Experience
  • Experience in neuropsychological approaches and rehabilitation.
  • Experience working within an MDT in health or rehabilitation settings.
  • Skilled in conducting psychological assessments, formulation, and delivering interventions.
  • Experience of designing and implementing behaviour support programmes is desirable.
  • Strong communication, teamwork, and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to evidence-based practice and continuous professional development.
