An excitingopportunity has emerged to join the Medicines Management and Pharmacy Servicesdepartment as the Clinical Pharmacy Team Leader for Oncology, based at therenowned Leeds Cancer Centre in Bexley Wing at St James's University Hospital.
In this leadership role, you'll oversee a dynamic and evolving workforce who champion excellence in clinical practice while managing diverse portfolios, spanning specialist disease groups and wider pharmacy responsibilities.
You will be accountable for the service delivery of your team across a range of pharmacy performance indicators and will be involved in finance, governance and therapeutic pathway decisions.
You will work collaboratively with the Clinical Pharmacy Team Leader for Haematology, the Consultant Pharmacist for Cancer Services, our Associate Lead Clinicians for Preparative Services and our Lead Pharmacy Technician for Cancer Services to ensure our oncology pharmacy services remain safe, efficient, effective and compassionate.

MedicinesManagement and Pharmacy Services (MMPS) at LTHT is a large and vibrantdepartment with over 750 staff working across multiple sites. JOBPURPOSE
Tomanage a team of pharmacists delivering specialist clinical pharmacy servicesto specified Clinical Service/Support Units (CSUs) within the Trust.
To bethe first point of contact, and support for the CSUs, on all matters relatingto pharmacy.
Provideexpert opinion, both within and outside pharmacy, to ensure the safe and effectivedelivery of drug therapy to defined clinical areas.
Provide pharmaceutical professional leadership for defined clinical areas by liaisonwith pharmacy operational services and key members of the CSU.
Be responsiblefor professional leadership for specified area of Trust e.g. locality hospital.
The post holder will also perform the role of a lead clinical pharmacist to a definedclinical area. In this role, the post holder will ensure medicines are used appropriately,safely, and cost-effectively in accordance with Trust policy, standardoperating procedures and medicine legislation.
The post holder is expectedto determine how the outcomes are best achieved in specific circumstances.
Manage a team of specialist pharmacists providing clinical pharmacy services to thedefined clinical areas and CSUs
Responsible for the provision of information to the CSUs regarding clinicaland financialgovernance, and issues around service delivery and future developments
Responsible for the co-ordination of training for pharmacists and otherhealthcare professionalson aspects of drug use within defined clinical specialities.
Provide a minimum of at least one session of professional supervisory cover in thedispensary, aseptic dispensary, Medicines Information Department or otherrelated activity.
The post holder will be required to work evenings, weekendsand BankHolidays on a rotational basis.
To act as the responsible pharmacist in line with local procedures.
