Job Overview

ABUHB Pharmacy offers a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to build their career portfolio or take the next step in their career—an opportunity to influence and shape the next generation of pharmacy workforce. We have a 12-month, 0.6 WTE Education and Training 8A Pharmacist role available as either a fixed-term or secondment opportunity (all secondment applications require line manager approval).

We seek a pharmacist passionate about education and training to join our Secondary Care team in a key E+T specialist role based at our flagship Grange University Hospital site. The ideal candidate will be enthusiastic and driven to make a positive impact. As part of the ABUHB Pharmacy Vision, we are committed to investing in our workforce and delivering high standards of pharmacy education and training.

In this role, you will lead and facilitate education and training delivery at the site, including the Funded Pharmacy Undergraduate Placement Programme (FPUPP). You will work within a dynamic and supportive environment as part of the wider ABUHB E+T team.

The working pattern will be discussed and agreed upon appointment.

Main duties of the job

  • Support the ABUHB Education and Training strategy by working with Site and Education and Training Leads to organise, evaluate, and deliver training programs within the Pharmacy Department.
  • Ensure training and education meet statutory, professional, and regulatory requirements for various pharmacy roles.
  • Lead and support delivery of HEIW-commissioned training programs, including FPUPP.
  • Act as a role model in pharmacy practice, maintaining high standards in line with the ABUHB Pharmacy Vision.
  • Serve as a non-medical prescriber when required, undertaking sessions within your sphere of competence, including initiating/modifying medication, monitoring therapy, and adjusting treatments.
  • Support and deputise for Lead Pharmacists within the Pharmacy Department when needed.
