A major healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a Clinical Fellow (ST3+ Equivalent) in Cardiac Surgery for a 12-month position at the Barts Heart Centre. The role involves attending educational programs, engaging in research, and collaborating with a cardiology department. Candidates must have GMC registration and an FRCS/MRCS qualification. This position offers a unique opportunity to work within one of the largest cardiothoracic centres.
The Barts Heart Centre at St Bartholomew's Hospital is part of Barts Health NHS Trust in London. It comprises the cardiothoracic units from St Bartholomew's, the London Chest and the Heart hospitals, and is one of the largest cardiothoracic and vascular centres in the UK with a wide range of adult cardiac, thoracic and adult congenital (GUCH) care.
The centre operates nine operating theatres, including two hybrid theatres for complex aortic stenting and TAVI procedures. It performs over 2000 cardiac and 800 thoracic procedures annually, supported by a large cardiology department and comprehensive respiratory and anaesthetic services.
