Overview

University College London Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust invites applications for a Clinical Fellow (ST3+) in Haematology Early Phase Clinical Trials. Applications are invited from February 2026. The closing date is 29 September 2025. The aim of this position is to offer comprehensive specialist training in all aspects of running early phase haematology clinical trials, including protocol development, regulatory procedures, translational research projects and presentation of research at meetings.

Job responsibilities

Knowledge & Qualifications
  • Membership of the Royal College of Physicians or equivalent
  • GMC Registration: NB: Non-UK trained doctors must be on the GMC register by date of appointment having completed both PLAB1 & 2
  • Completed core medical training or equivalent
  • Competency in prescribing chemotherapy
  • Experience in haematology
  • Ability and commitment to teach in a clinical setting
  • Ability to organise and prioritise workload, delegate responsibility as appropriate and supervise staff
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work cooperatively in a multidisciplinary setting
  • Ability to work effectively within a team environment and on own initiative
  • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
  • Understanding of research methodology
  • Member of Medical Defence organisation
  • Advanced Life Support
  • Undergoing or completed higher specialist training in Haematology or equivalent (e.g., oncology)
  • Experience in early phase clinical trials
  • Experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels
  • Experience of laboratory research
  • Knowledge of the Clinical Governance framework of the NHS (including Research governance) and understanding of current changes in NHS organisation and management
