A leading NHS Trust in Birmingham is seeking a registrar for a 12-month training position in Gastroenterology and Nutrition. The role includes providing inpatient and outpatient care, managing referrals, and supporting nutrition services. The ideal candidate will rotate through various responsibilities within the department. Candidates are encouraged to apply regardless of background, as diversity is highly valued.
This is a non-grid training position in the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition for a period of 12 months. The job is one of four registrar-level responsibilities covering general gastroenterology and clinical nutrition. The position complements three other registrars attached to the Department of Gastroenterology and Nutrition (total of four registrars). The post supports inpatient and outpatient services provided by the department and rotates through responsibilities as described below.
Normal working day consists of covering the department unit from 08:30 to 17:30.
The post holder will be expected to undertake duties on the ward and in outpatient clinics and to support colleagues as needed.

The post does not contribute to the trust-wide Hospital at Night rota but will contribute to the out-of-hours cover for the Gastroenterology / Hepatology rota, which is covered from 08:00 to 20:00 seven days per week. Out-of-hours work would be paid in addition to the basic salary.
