A leading healthcare provider in Wrexham is seeking a part-time doctor for a 12-month position in the Dermatology Department. The role involves supporting clinicians, participating in governance training, and pursuing continuous professional development. Qualified candidates must have MBBS or equivalent and full GMC registration. This position offers a salary between £37,737 and £49,925 annually, pro rata.
The Dermatology Department currently consists of 14 consultants supported by 2 specialist doctors, 3 Specialty Grade Doctors, and a team of Specialist Dermatology Nurses and Cancer Nurse Specialists. The department has a complement of specialist trainees consisting of 5 Specialist Registrars rotating across the hospital sites in North Wales. We also have a GP trainee and FY2 Doctor placed in dermatology for 6 month and 4 month rotations respectively.
This post is a part time post for 12 months, which has arisen due to maternity leave. It is ideal for someone wishing to progress to dermatology specialist training.
The Betsi Cadwaladr University Health Board provides all aspects of health care for the population of North Wales, including Primary Care, Acute Care, Community Care and Mental Health. It covers the counties of Anglesey, Conwy, Denbighshire, Flintshire, Gwynedd and Wrexham.
The Health Board employs around 18,000 staff and has a budget of £1.8 billion. It serves a population of 695,000 and consists of 3 major DGHs, situated in Wrexham, Bodelwyddan (Ysbyty Glan Clwyd) & Bangor (Ysbyty Gwynedd). Satellite surgical units are based at Llandudno and Abergele, and there are several Community Hospitals.
