Overview

Further your career and take on a new challenge as a Functional Specialist. We are recruiting for hybrid working Nurses, Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapists and Paramedics to utilise their clinical knowledge in a new role with a leading, multi-national employer with full-time positions available.

As a Functional Specialist you will provide unbiased, comprehensive assessments for the Government’s disability allowance (PIP) while delivering a personalised, inclusive and empathetic service for the service user.

Your New Role

• As a multi-skilled Functional Specialist, you will manage caseloads from end to end, delivering face-to-face and virtual assessments, telephone assessments, initial review calls and paper-based reports (PBR).
• You will have greater job variety and autonomy to manage cases to conclusion.
• You will assess the full range of health conditions and disabilities affecting the claimant, including physical, sensory, mental, intellectual and cognitive impairments.
• You will have time built into your working rota for breaks, CPD, audit amendments, requesting and reviewing further evidence and team meetings.

Responsibilities

• Manage caseloads from end to end and conduct assessments (face to face, virtual, telephone) and prepare reports.
• Assess a broad spectrum of conditions and disabilities across physical, sensory, mental, intellectual and cognitive domains.
• Collaborate with service users to provide an unbiased, empathetic and personalised service.
• Maintain appropriate documentation and evidence for each case, including PBR where applicable.

Requirements

• Qualified Nurse, Mental Health Nurse, Occupational Therapist, Physiotherapist or Paramedic.
• Valid registration on NMC or HCPC without restrictions.
• Excellent communication skills and strong IT literacy.

Location & Salary

• Salary: £38,500 - £41,500 per year (Plus bonuses, see Benefits)
