Job Title: Client Manager

Location: Launceston (Hybrid/Office-Based Options)

Overview:

A well-established and forward-thinking accountancy firm is seeking a qualified Client Manager to join their team. This role is ideal for someone with a strong practice background who enjoys client-facing work, team leadership, and contributing to the strategic direction of a growing firm.

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing client accounts, reviewing tax and financial statements, and helping to support and develop junior staff. You will also be expected to stay current with regulatory updates and support digital transformation initiatives, including cloud accounting.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee and manage a portfolio of clients across various entity types (Ltd companies, partnerships, sole traders, LLPs)

  • Review statutory accounts, corporation tax returns, and other submissions

  • Advise clients on accounting, tax planning, and business strategy matters

  • Support Partners with business planning and operational execution

  • Mentor and train junior staff, contributing to their technical and professional development

  • Promote adoption and best use of cloud accounting software

  • Assist clients in evaluating and implementing appropriate software solutions

  • Ensure awareness and compliance with relevant legislation

  • Promote and uphold the core values and culture of the firm

Requirements:
  • ACA / ACCA qualified (or equivalent)

  • Minimum 5 years experience in a UK accountancy practice

  • Strong leadership and communication skills

  • Good working knowledge of accounting standards and tax compliance

  • Proficiency in cloud-based accounting platforms (e.g. Xero, QuickBooks)

  • Client-focused with a commercial mindset

Desirable:
  • Experience supporting digital transformation or software transitions

  • Strong understanding of workflow management systems

  • A genuine interest in mentoring and developing others
