Client Manager

Ashton-under-Lyne

Up to £50,000

Butler Rose are recruiting for a Client Manager to join a medium sized accountancy practice in the Ashton-under-Lyne area. They support a wide mix of clients across accounts, audit, tax and advisory work, and offer strong career progression within a supportive culture.

Duties
  • Manage a portfolio of clients, delivering a high-quality accounts service.
  • Prepare and review accounts, ensuring work is delivered efficiently and to a high standard.
  • Oversee semi-senior and junior team members, delegating tasks and reviewing work/providing feedback.
  • Work closely with senior management and maintain clear communication on workflow and deadlines.
  • Monitor budgets, recoverability and billing across your portfolio to ensure commercial efficiency.
  • Support the wider development of the practice, with clear progression opportunities into senior leadership roles.
  • Maintain strong technical knowledge and ensure compliance with professional standards.
What we're looking for
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA or equivalent) with a strong background in practice.
  • Experience managing your own client portfolio.
  • Strong technical understanding of high-level accounts and consolidations.
  • Confident in reviewing work and supporting junior colleagues.
  • Ambitious, with a desire to progress into a leadership role.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with both clients and internal stakeholders.
  • Commercial awareness with experience managing budgets, WIP and billing.
