Cleaning Operative – Wester Hailes High School

Salary: £25,322 – £25,623 (pro rata for part time and sessional)

Hours: 20 per week, 40 weeks sessional

Monday – Friday 4pm – 8pm

Responsibilities
  • Empty litter and recycling bins.
  • Clean all surfaces, internal glass, floors, furniture, fixtures and fittings within a group of buildings.
  • Clean all sanitary areas, toilets and showers and replenish washroom consumables.
  • Perform emergency and reactive cleaning as required (e.g., removal of graffiti, body fluid spillage, accidental spillages).
  • Maintain the care and cleanliness of all equipment used to carry out the above duties.
  • Support cleaning tasks across other buildings where required.
  • Deliver to cleaning specification requirements and cooperate with performance measurement to meet agreed standards.
  • Act as a key holder, operating security alarm systems, closing accessible windows and doors, switching off lights and ensuring premises are left safe and secure when closing.
Qualifications / Requirements
  • Registered under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007 – will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check.
  • Overseas Criminal Record Check required for any individual who has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years.
  • Unconditional offer of employment contingent on satisfactory pre‑employment checks.
  • Ability to work independent, safely and meet performance targets.
