A city council in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Cleaner to join their Facility Services team. This role involves cleaning various designated areas including corridors and classrooms. The ideal candidate should be reliable and friendly, with a basic understanding of English. Full training is provided, along with competitive pay and benefits such as annual leave and a pension scheme. This is a part-time position with fixed working hours, typically from 6:00am to 8:30am.

Working as a team and using your own initiative, daily duties will involve cleaning designated areas such as corridors, classrooms, offices and toilet areas using required equipment. While working to fixed deadlines, responsibilities include emptying bins, mopping and vacuuming floors, so regular stooping, bending and lifting will be required. To carry out these tasks, candidates will need to have a basic understanding of both written and spoken English due to the use of chemicals.
Facility Services and Civic Management work across the city and Gateshead providing building cleaning, caretaking, school meals and welfare catering services.
