Job description

The Salvation Army Margate Corps is looking to recruit a cleaner to assist in the smooth running of busy programme of activities which engages with and responds to local needs within the community. The Corps currently provides a variety of activities, and we are looking for a reliable and motivated person to help deliver a professional cleaning service, ensuring that the centre is clean and meets Health and Safety standards for the public at all times.

  • Undertake cleaning duties according to the cleaning schedule
  • Ensure Health and Safety and Environmental Health and Hygiene standards are maintained according to the Safe Working Practices, including wearing of any protective clothing
  • Must have the physical ability to move chairs/tables/equipment as required
  • Work as part of the staff and voluntary team within the Corps to ensure the overall aims of the Corps are achieved

    Knowledge of relevant health and safety requirements and procedures

  • Experience of using cleaning equipment and associate chemicals
  • Ability to monitor stock of cleaning materials and recognise their usage so new stock can be ordered
