Job description

Overview

The Bushmead Community Hub (BCH) is a community centre in Bushmead, Luton. We are run by and for the community, helping to make Bushmead an even better place to live. This post aims to ensure that BCH is not only fit for purpose but is a centre that our local community can be proud of. The post holder will be expected to clean to a high standard, be reliable and work with a minimum of supervision. Must have a minimum 2 years proven work history in the cleaning Industry.

Key responsibilities

• Maintaining a clean and safe centre
• Cleaning all areas, including rooms, the office, toilets and kitchens and ensuring they are maintained in accordance with the Centre\'s high standards.
• Cleaning will include, but is not exclusive, mopping, sweeping floors, waxing floors, vacuuming, polishing, dusting, cleaning toilets, cleaning kitchen and general upkeep of the Centre.
• To report any day-to-day maintenance issues such as minor repairs, changing light bulbs etc to the Hub manager.
• Making safe any hazards, ensuring areas are cordoned off if required.
• Moving furniture and equipment, as required.
• Maintaining our small outside areas, including clearing litter and weeds and clearing ice and snow.
• Reporting any issues or defects to the Hub Manager.

Administrative

• To ensure the centre has adequate supplies of cleaning materials by communicating to the Hub Manager.
• Completion of timesheets.
• Compliance with COSH

General

• To undertake all activities in compliance with BCH policies and procedures, with reference to equality and health and safety.
• To carry out any other duties within the scope of the post.
