Job description
Overview

Attleborough Primary School, part of Sapientia Education Trust, is looking for an enthusiastic, compassionate and experienced SENCO and Year 1 class teacher. The role combines part‑time SEN coordination with teaching duties across the week.

Roles and Responsibilities
  • SENCO ( Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday )
    • Lead and manage the school’s SEND provision in line with the SEND Code of Practice.
    • Identify and assess pupils with additional needs and coordinate appropriate interventions.
    • Work closely with class teachers, support staff and parents to ensure inclusive, high‑quality teaching.
    • Liaise with external agencies, including educational psychologists, speech and language therapists and the local authority.
    • Maintain accurate and up‑to‑date SEND records, including EHCPs and provision maps.
    • Monitor and evaluate the impact of SEND provision across the school.
    • Have a proven track record of improving outcomes for pupils with SEND.
    • Be a passionate, reflective practitioner with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Year 1 Class Teacher ( Thursday and Friday )
    • Put pupils first and be an excellent classroom practitioner.
    • Have a thorough understanding of the Year 1 curriculum and high expectations of all pupils.
    • Be optimistic, energetic, resilient and creative.
    • Help drive our school forward to excellent future successes.
Qualifications
  • Qualified teacher with the National Award for SEN Coordination (NASENCO) or NPQ for SEN.
  • Experience as a SENCO and classroom teacher is essential.
