We’re on the lookout for a caring, reliable Classroom Assistant to join a welcoming primary school in Gateshead. Whether it’s helping a whole class stay on track or offering gentle 1:1 support, your calm presence and positive energy will help pupils feel seen, supported and ready to learn.

Supporting children across the classroom, KS1 or KS2
Assisting the class teacher with learning tasks and behaviour routines
Providing tailored 1:1 or small group support when needed
Helping make each day run smoother, calmer, and more enjoyable
Experience working with children (school, nursery, youth work or similar)
A calm, friendly approach and good communication skills
Flexibility and a genuine interest in supporting learning
Bonus if you’ve supported SEN pupils before—but not essential!

All pay rates quoted will be inclusive of 12.07% statutory holiday pay. This advert is for a temporary position. In some cases, the option to make this role permanent may become available at a later date.
