A local educational institution in Wednesbury is seeking a Class Teacher for the Connector and Developer pathways. High Point Academy opened in September 2021 for children and young people aged 11-16 years who all have an Education Health and Care Plan and a diagnosis of Autism. The school is part of Forward Education Trust, who specialise in SEN provision.
We are on the lookout for an outstanding primary or secondary teacher who has a real passion for teaching pupils with SEN, ideally with experience working with pupils diagnosed with Autism and recognises the importance of life skills to support our pupils for the future.
Within this role you will be teaching pupils within both the Connector and Developer pathway. Students on the Developer pathway are typically working at least 3 years below age-related expectations and their formal curriculum is focussed around developing independence, life and functional skills. Students on the Connector pathway are working 2 years below age-related up to age-related expectations. You will respond to meet the individual needs of our students and help them to build strategies to minimise barriers to learning, enabling them to prepare for adult life both educationally and emotionally.
