We are seeking to appoint a skilled, reflective and inclusive class teacher to work within our ERP. This role is central to our commitment that we dream big, believe we can and we can all achieve excellence.

The successful candidate will teach and support pupils from age 5 to 8, working closely with a dedicated team of Teaching Assistants, an HLTA and an experienced SENCO, to ensure ambitious, personalised and meaningful learning outcomes for all pupils.

We are committed to supporting flexible working and so would welcome applications from people looking for either a full-time post of part-time hours of 0.5 or above. Although potentially better suited to an experienced teacher, Willerby Carr Lane will consider applications from ECTs who can demonstrate commitment to teaching children with significant SEND.

The Role

As an ERP class teacher, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, inclusive teaching for pupils with complex learning difficulties, including Autism
  • Demonstrate experience of working with non-verbal pupils, using a range of communication strategies and approaches
  • Adapt the curriculum to ensure it is ambitious, well-sequenced and accessible to meet a range of individual needs
  • Plan, deliver and assess highly differentiated learning, ensuring pupils make progress from their individual starting points
  • Foster a positive, safe and inclusive classroom environment where pupils feel secure, understood and supported
  • Use creative, flexible and child-centred approaches to celebrate achievement and promote engagement
  • Work confidently with behaviour that may challenge, using inclusive, proactive and trauma-informed strategies
  • Lead and work collaboratively with other staff, modelling high expectations and inclusive practice
  • Liaise effectively with parents, carers, governors and multi-disciplinary professionals to support outcomes
  • Use ICT effectively to support learning, communication and accessibility
  • Contribute to a strong culture of teamwork, reflection and continuous improvement

We Are Looking for Someone Who:

  • Has a strong understanding of inclusive practice and SEND provision
  • Is committed to improving outcomes for pupils with additional needs
  • Values partnership with families and external professionals
  • Has excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Is reflective, resilient and passionate about inclusive education

We Can Offer You:

  • A welcoming, inclusive and supportive school community
  • A strong partnership with a knowledgeable and committed Board of Governors
  • A leadership team that prioritises staff wellbeing
  • Weekly PPA time, which may be taken at home
  • A planned programme of high-quality CPD
  • Membership of the National College
  • An attractive working environment where inclusion is embedded in everyday practice
