Job summary

An established industry player in transport and logistics is seeking Class 2 Drivers to support local clients with their staffing needs. This role offers flexibility in working days, allowing you to choose how many days you work, generally between Monday and Friday, with occasional weekend shifts. You will be responsible for driving for various clients, ensuring excellent customer service and performing vehicle maintenance checks. Job description

Driver Hire are the UK's largest specialist transport and logistics recruitment company. We provide driving and logistics staff to both local and national clients across a variety of sectors, offering flexible and reliable staffing solutions.

Driver Hire Basingstoke and Newbury are looking to recruit a number of Class 2 Drivers to help support the work that we are doing to support our local clients with their temporary staffing needs. The clients we support are based from Hook in the south of the region, through Basingstoke and Tadley, and up to Newbury and Thatcham in the north.

The work varies from client to client, and you could be driving for a range of different clients.

The days can be flexible to you, working as many or as few days as you wish. Generally the work is between Monday and Friday, but there may be occasional weekend working as well.

RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Carry out designated duties in a professional and timely manner.
2. Perform daily vehicle maintenance checks.
3. Be reliable, polite, and friendly.
4. Good customer service is vital as you will be the face of Driver Hire.
5. Have the ability to plan routes, and be able to use a Sat Nav system.

REQUIREMENTS

1. Full UK Driving Licence, with at least 1 year’s experience.
2. Valid CPC Card.
3. Valid Digital Tacho.
4. Previous commercial driving work would be advantageous, but not essential.
5. Verifiable References.

HOURS, PAY & BENEFITS

1. £17.92 - £19.07 per hour (including holiday pay, basic rate £15.99 - £17.02ph) - Mondays to Fridays, with enhanced rates for weekend work.
2. Guaranteed minimum of 8 hours per day (full day), or 4 hours (half day).
3. Flexible working days to suit you.
4. Weekly Paid.
