Job description
Class 2 ADR Mini Bulk Tanker Driver (Seasonal)

Location: Preston

Pay Rate: 35k per annum (pro rata)

Shift Times: the usual start time is 05:00 - and the finish time 14.00/15:00

This is an annualised hrs contract paid monthly, the salary is based on working Monday to Friday but you will need to be flexible to work across the weekend & Bank Holidays when required. Saturdays are paid at time and a half and Sundays and bank holidays at double time. Overtime hours are paid on a monthly basis in arrears. This is a 6 month, fixed term contract working for and paid by our client.

Manpower are now recruiting for 2 X Class 2 ADR Seasonal mini Bulk tanker Driver. You will be responsible for ensuring that the company\'s distribution activities are performed in a safe, efficient, cost-effective, and courteous way.

Responsibilities
  • Perform daily scheduled checks on the vehicle before commencing delivery and after completion of the daily activities. Log and report all damages and vehicle defects
  • Ensure compliance with UK transport legislation regarding tachographs, driving hours and records
  • Check and report all customer sites conform with safety, signage, housekeeping (standard of paintwork, shrubbery, fences, walls) using the prescribed format
  • Communicate with the Logistics Planners on a regular basis particularly when updating delays or disruptions of the delivery schedule and over/or under stock vehicle situation
  • When performing their duties drivers should carry sufficient documentation confirming competence and authorisation to drive company vehicle. Drivers should ensure the vehicle displays the required HAZCHEM signs and instructions in writing.
  • Ensure a properly completed meter ticket is produced, showing quantity of gas delivered and where possible receive a customer signature as proof of delivery
  • Loading and discharging of vehicles as appropriate in accordance with the prescribed HSE standards and ensure that no customer tank is filled to more than 85% of tank capacity
  • To support and cover on-call arrangements including weekends and bank holidays
  • To report all competitor activities discovered during the performance of these duties to the Area Operations Supervisor
  • To undertake such training as deemed necessary by the company to assist in the performance of these duties
  • Start time: Roughly 06:00 each morning however once drivers are in they can decide when they would like to start as long as the work is completed each day - typical shifts are roughly 10-12 hours.
Key facts
  • Working within a matrix organisation, reporting to the Site Operations Manager
  • Working within a team of circa 70 drivers located around the UK
  • Daily travel required to deliver to customer sites within a set radius. Further UK travel required to cover on call
  • 1k signing on bonus after passing 3 month probationary period
Qualifications and Essentials
  • Full UK driving licence, including authorisation for the category of vehicle to be driven
  • Current ADR licence, including Core, Tanks & Class 2
  • Maximum of 6 points (no DD\'s)
  • Understanding of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) provided
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety at Work Act
  • Understanding of HSE risks, emergency procedures, escape routes and fire prevention conditions
  • Understanding of incident reporting and safe operating procedures
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work under pressure within a seasonal business
  • Confidence working autonomously
