Job summary

A recruitment agency is seeking a full-time Civil Engineering Assistant for various locations across Northern Ireland including Belfast. This temporary role offers a competitive pay rate of £17.43 per hour. Job description

CPL have partnered with Northern Ireland Civil Service (NICS) to recruit for a Civil Engineering Assistant (PTO Grade) to join their team on a full time, temporary contract, paying £17.43 per hour.

Various locations across Northern Ireland to include; Belfast, Craigavon, Coleraine, Ballymena, andDownpatrick.

Responsibilities
  • Project design, to include engineering calculations
  • Preparation and updating of civil engineering drawings, contract documents and reports
  • Operation and maintenance of infrastructure/assets
  • Provide assistance (Includes out of hours) in response to flooding and post flooding surveys
  • Provide advice to planning service in regard to flood risk for proposed new developments
  • Supervision of staff, contractors and direct labour force
  • Site surveys, collecting and interpreting data
  • Use of engineering and general IT software
  • Investigation of public liability claims, enforcement of legislation, with possible attendance in court if required
  • Application of appropriate Health and Safety measures
  • Management of human and financial resources
  • Liaise with staff from different disciplines and work areas
  • Deal with issues raised by members of the general public, and line managers, communicating appropriately both verbally and in writing
  • Contribute and promote a positive sense of co-operation and team work to achieve the vision and aims of the department, and provide a professional service to the public
Requirements
  • Minimum Level 3 BTEC National Certificate in Civil Engineering or Building Studies
  • 1+ years of experience is preferred
  • A full current driving licence
