A leading renewable energy company in Castle Douglas seeks a Civil Engineer for a permanent position. You will lead the Civil Team at Galloway Hydros, ensuring compliance with engineering standards and managing maintenance projects. You’ll be a subject matter expert for civil engineering across Galloway & Lanark Hydro sites, providing technical support, delivering key projects and managing civil asset maintenance.
This role will involve leading the site Civil Team, setting the standard for civil engineering governance and ensuring compliance with all statutory requirements.
You’ll ensure that civil inspection activities are carried out in accordance with the relevant standard so that civil assets are effectively managed.
You’ll also support delivery of civil engineering projects of all sizes from decommissioning, development and construction through to station maintenance and refurbishment.
Stakeholder management will be key, as you’ll be working closely with Engineers and Managers from across our Hydro sites and the wider business. You’ll also be responsible for supervising contractors and reviewing designs supplied by consultants.
You’ll need to have a strong background in Civil Engineering, accompanied by a relevant Degree or HND/HNC qualification. Ideally, you’ll also hold or be working towards Chartered Engineer status.
Good working knowledge and understanding of civil engineering industry standards and legislation is required.
You’ll have highly developed problem solving, communications and negotiation skills with the ability to form effective working relationships.
