Overview

An independent Engineering Consultancy with an expanding presence across the UK is looking to strengthen its team in Bath with the appointment of a Civil Design Engineer. This is an opportunity to join a business that started in Ireland just over a decade ago and has grown steadily to nearly forty people across multiple offices, building its reputation on the quality of its work and long-standing client relationships. The practice delivers civil and structural engineering input across a broad range of sectors, from large distribution and logistics facilities through to residential, commercial, retail and mixed-use projects. The team is known for its collaborative, client-focused approach and for creating innovative, practical designs that balance efficiency, sustainability and buildability.

Responsibilities
  • Be involved in the full life of a project, from early feasibility and concept design through to detailed design, tender and construction.
  • Prepare and review calculations, reports and drawings.
  • Produce flood risk and drainage strategies, design highways and earthworks.
  • Liaise with planning authorities and statutory undertakers.
  • Attend meetings and site visits.
  • Work closely with senior engineers and have opportunities to contribute ideas and develop project leadership skills.
Qualifications
  • Several years of experience within a consultancy environment.
  • Confidence with UK design standards and local authority processes.
  • Proficient in AutoCAD with additional knowledge of MicroDrainage, Site3D or Causeway Flow.
  • A degree in civil engineering or equivalent is expected; the company will fully support progression towards chartership.
