Overview

Your impact

Working across some of the UK’s highest profile projects, as an experienced CAD Technician proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D and Revit with an aspiration to grow your career and experience in river engineering and flood risk management, you will be an integral part of our Water Catchment Management team based in Scotland. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will support the design development for a wide range of solutions including flood defence structures, culverts, weirs, control structures, flood storage reservoirs, natural flood management, habitat creation and fish passes.

Remit and responsibilities
  • Producing 3D models, developing these into production deliverables including detailed drawings and federated models.
  • Developing a multitude of design elements, representations and analysis in Civil 3D, such as ground models, pipe networks, river channels, in‑channel structures and flood defences.
  • Managing common data environments, such as ProjectWise, Autodesk Construction Cloud and SharePoint.
  • Exporting rendered models into federated model platforms, such as Navisworks, InfraWorks and Revizto.
  • Production of detailed plans, elevations, long‑sections and cross‑sections.
  • Working with and across a range of GIS platforms.
  • Efficient organising of documentation and strict version control.
  • Compiling BIM execution plans.
  • Collaboratively working both within own team and other disciplines including overseas offices.
  • Applying and implementing best practice and industry standards, such as DMRB GG 184.
Here’s what you’ll need
  • Civil Engineering qualified HNC/HND, Degree.
  • A demonstrable level of experience in working on major projects.
  • Proficient in CAD packages such as AutoCAD and Civil 3D; some experience of Revit, CADS RC or InfoDrainage would be advantageous.
  • Attention to detail and the ability to produce high quality deliverables.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work in diverse, multidisciplinary, global teams.
  • Eager to learn and commit to expand on existing skillsets.
