A unique full-time leadership development opportunity for an aspiring Youth Pastor, with fully funded Diploma in Theology, Ministry & Mission @ Durham Uni.

The call to full-time church ministry isn’t one for the faint-hearted: to love extravagantly, sow patiently and serve sacrificially. Yet for those who do, we know the beauty and privilege of seeing up close God at work in people, of being at the heart of community shepherded by him and seeing our own lives shaped to reflect our King, Jesus.

At York City Church, we’re passionate about equipping the next generation of servant leaders and seriously investing in people who will be gifts to the Church in the UK (and beyond!) for many years to come. We’re jealous for Church to be a place where investment in and nurturing of leaders is as good as or even better than the best graduate programmes, not just something on the side. So as City Church, we’re looking to team up with Cranmer Hall at St John’s College, Durham University to provide a unique leadership development role. You can get stuck into pioneering ministry and mission to young people in York alongside part-time study for a Diploma in Theology, Ministry and Mission from Durham University, with broader support and opportunities from mentorship to external placements. This is a full-time salaried role, with the hope that it will transition into a paid position at City Church at the end of the initial 4-year training period.
