The salary for this role is £12.40 per hour.

The festive season at Boots is one of our most exciting and important times of the year. As a Christmas Customer Assistant, you'll be at the heart of the action, greeting customers with a smile, offering product and gift advice, and creating a memorable experience that keeps customers coming back all year round. This role is a great opportunity whether you're starting your career or have retail or customer service experience and want a fresh challenge. It is a temporary contract, with potential for a permanent role later depending on local opportunities.

About the role

You will work in a Boots store and report to the Assistant or Store Manager. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Customer Interaction: Offer thoughtful advice, recommend products and highlight offers to ensure everyone has an enjoyable shopping experience.
  • Till Operation: Support at the counter or self-checkout with energy and efficiency of transactions.
  • Stock Management: Keep shelves full so customers can find what they need during the busy season.
  • Store Presentation: Ensure areas look their best.
  • Online order support: Assist with deliveries, picking and packing for online orders as needed.
What you'll need to have

Full training is provided, but these are the essential skills or experience:

  • Available to work Bank Holidays including Black Friday week and weekend, Cyber Monday, Christmas Eve, Boxing Day, New Year’s Day.
  • Customer Service Skills: Comfortable approaching customers and delivering a personalised experience.
  • Operations Ready: Able to balance customer care with daily shopfloor tasks.
  • Tech-Savvy: Able to learn and use new technology, including handheld devices, tills and self-checkouts.
  • Team Player: Collaborative, one-team mindset to help achieve store goals.
  • Physical Stamina: Able to stand, walk and lift; stay busy and active.
  • Brand Ambassador: Love Boots ethos, products and services and share them with customers.

It would be great if you also have

Desirable but not essential experience:

  • Experience in a retail or customer-facing environment.
  • Familiar with Boots products and services to help customers.
