Job Description:

Are you looking for a part-time role for weekday evenings (5pm-8pm)?

Would you love a rewarding role supporting a child with spina bifida in their family home in the evenings, helping to put them to bed?

Come and join one of the UK's largest providers of complex care.

Within the Care in the Home division, we support children with complex health needs to live at home with their families.

We'd like you to join us as a Children’s Support Worker at our young client's home in Midhurst.

Meet the client:

Our client is a 17-year-old boy who lives at home with his grandparents and siblings. He attends school and requires support after school (5pm-8pm) to help him get ready for bed. He loves computer games, helping his grandad with cars, and playing board games with his family in the evenings. On Saturday mornings, you would take him to the equestrian centre for weekly horse-riding.

When you'll be working:

  • Monday-Friday evenings (5pm-8pm)
  • Saturday mornings
  • Up to 20 hours a week available
  • Part-time
  • More hours may become available in the near future

What you'll be doing:

This role involves supporting our young teenage client with spina bifida in his family home. Tasks include helping to put him to bed on weekdays and supporting him in the mornings on Saturdays. This involves personal care, medication, moving and handling, and managing clinical equipment.

No previous experience required; full training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support will be provided.

Due to the rural location, you will need to be a driver to reach the client's home.

What to look forward to:

  • Up to £ per hour
  • Full specialist training, shadow shifts, and ongoing support provided
  • Regular, consistent work with rolling rotas
  • Join the Active Learning Hub with access to e-learning and face-to-face training opportunities
  • Recognition through the Active Awards programme for outstanding Active Behaviours
  • Refer a Friend Scheme: earn up to £1500 for recommending someone you know
  • Support and guidance from our qualified clinical and business leadership teams to help you develop your career with Active Care Group
