Qualifications

Children's Residential Deputy Manager

Location: Saltash, Cornwall, PL12. Contract: Full Time, Permanent. Working hours: 40 per week. Salary: £15.29 – £16.01 per hour plus £30 sleep‑in rate. Closing date: Thursday 1 January 2026.

What You’ll Do
  • Support young people with their daily routines, including getting them ready for school, preparing for meal times and planning activities.
  • Develop a management style that balances control and direction with opportunities for staff to make decisions.
  • Plan shifts and ensure their smooth running when on duty.
  • Lead to ensure each staff member is aware of each child’s placement plan and their responsibilities for its implementation.
  • Attend childcare reviews and planning meetings to provide information and achieve best outcomes for young people.
  • Undertake direct work with young people and act as an appropriate role model.
  • Partner with parents, carers and other professionals to safeguard and promote the welfare of young people.
  • Develop, in consultation with young people and staff, routines in all aspects of child care.
