Qualifications

  • Hold a current Enhanced DBS on the update service or be willing to obtain one.
  • Able to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.

  • Provide 1:1 or 2:1 support to young people, including those with challenging behaviours.
  • Assist with personal care and daily living activities.
  • Implement and follow individualised care plans to meet the needs of each young person.
  • Ensure the safety and well being of the young people at all times.
  • Support young people to engage with their education at Vetro Regional School.
  • Be flexible with shifts, including providing waking night support when required.

Title: SEN Residential Support Worker

Location: Leyland

Shifts: Various shift patterns (including waking nights)

Pay: £13.00 - £15.00 per hour (depending on experience)

The Role

As a Residential Support Worker, you will play a key role in supporting the daily lives of young people in our complex needs homes. You will be responsible for providing high-quality care and support, implementing personalised care plans, and ensuring that the young people are supported to engage in activities that help develop their independence, social skills, and overall well being.

Our homes cater to a wide range of cultural backgrounds, and we create care plans that are unique to each individual, ensuring their specific needs are met. Some of our young people may present with anger management issues, absconding behaviours, and criminal behaviours, so your role will require a calm, patient, and proactive approach. You will also work closely with our educational team at Vetro, helping ensure the young people\'s education and personal development are supported.
